SMRT has explained that the train vandalised with graffiti on 17 May was spotted by their own staff on the same day, but was mistaken as advertisement because it was far too well-done. The train was in operation for two days until 19 May when the it was sent for a scheduled maintenance. It was on 19 May that the alarm of the vandalism was raised and referred to the police.
